Today's Games
This evening, the Bisons and Syracuse Mets will play game two of their four-game set. Following Sunday's afternoon game, reliever Justin Shafer and manager Bobby Meacham will represent the Herd at the 2019 Triple-A All-Star game in El Paso, TX. The Bisons will be in Pawtucket next Thursday after the thre-day break for the midsummer classic.
Yesterday's Game: BUF 5, SYR 7
Buffalo dropped the first game of the series with Syracuse due to a six-run sixth inning for the Mets. Bo Bichette's home run and Socrates Brito's two RBIs led the Bisons' offense while LHP Shawn Morimando had a strong four inning start on the mound. Danny Espinosa and Ruben Tejada each had homers for Syracuse and a combined four RBIs as they helped drive the team to victory.
Syracuse Mets (4-7)
Buffalo and Syracuse meet again after playing each other last week at Sahlen Field. The Herd took two of the three games to finish off their hot month of June and tie them with Rochester for the best record in the International League (20-10) in the month. The teams will meet one more time at Sahlen Field on 8/2-8/4 for finish to season series.
Tonight's Starter
RHP Conor Fisk will take the mound for the start of tonight's game in Syracuse. In his last outting he was touched up for seven runs, four home runs, and nine hits in just 3.0 IP. Coming into his eighth start, Fisk now carries a 5.48 ERA with a 1-4 record.
Bo Bichette
INF Bo Bichette extended his hit-streak to five games with his performance. He also hit his fourth home run of 2019, which is also his third in the 20 games since he came back from the injured list. He finished the night 1-5 with the homer, an RBI, and a run scored.
Socrates Brito
OF Socrates Brito led the Bisons' scoring with his two RBIs, raising his RBI total to a team leading 38. In the game, Brito finished 1-2 with the two RBI's and a walk in the loss.
Bisons Bits
With 12 hits last night, over the past 30 days to Bisons are now hitting a strong .278, good for third in the IL over that time. While allowing seven runs against the Mets as well, Buffalo still carries the best ERA in the IL, 3.89, over the past 30 days.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (33-55) lost the final game of their series with the Boston Red Sox due to a ninth inning home run by Marco Hernandez as the Sox won 8-7. Danny Jansen hit two home runs, giving the backstop a HR in three straight games, his fourth homer in that span, to double his season total to eight. The Blue Jays will now host the Baltimore Orioles for a three-game series tonight at 7:07 p.m.
