Today's Game

The afternoon, Bisons' finish up their four-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers at Coolray Field. Today marks the end of a seven-day road trip. Buffalo will have a scheduled off-day on Monday before returning home for their final homestand of the 2018 season to face division rivals Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (August 21-23) and Pawtucket Red Sox (August 24-27). Buffalo will face the rest of their division in their final series of the season. The team squares off against the Rochester Red Wings August 28-30 (doubleheader on the 28th) and then finish the season at the Syracuse Chiefs August 31- September 3.

LHP Shawn Morimando made his Bisons' debut on Saturday, logging three innings for the Herd. Morimando surrendered four hits and two runs, both earned, in the defeat. OF Anthony Alford collected his 31st RBI of the season in the first inning with an RBI double that scored OF Dwight Smith Jr. The Stripers scored twice in the second, followed by a two-run home run in the sixth by OF Dustin Peterson, before winning 5-1.

Gwinnett (2-4)

The Bisons and Stripers are meeting for the final time in the 2018 season. Gwinnett took two of three the last time these two played, a series spanning August 7-9 at Coca-Cola Field. The Bisons have dropped the season series for the sixth year in a row to the Gwinnett franchise.

Today's Starter: RHP Mike Hauschild

RHP Mike Hauschild is making his second start for the Herd since being optioned by the Toronto Blue Jays. Hauschild collected a win in his first start for Buffalo on August 14 at Charlotte (5.0IP, 6H, 2R/ER, 1BB, 2SO). The righty began the season with Fresno of the PCL, before signing with Toronto and making two appearances with the Jays.

Gunnar Heidt

INF Gunnar Heidt had two more hits on Saturday after smashing his first career Triple-A home run on Friday. Heidt has gone 3-7 with a 2B and HR in two games since being promoted from New Hampshire (AA).

Anthony Alford

OF Anthony Alford drove in the lone Bisons' run on Saturday night for his 31st RBI of the season. Alford now has 10RBI in 16 games in August.

Jacob Waguespack

RHP Jacob Waguespack logged five innings in relief on Saturday. The righty has 23SO in 21.2IP since being acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Transactions

On Saturday, LHP Shawn Morimando was added to the Bisons' roster from the GCL Blue Jays, while LHP Thomas Pannone was placed on the Blue Jays Taxi Squad.

Bisons' Bits

The Herd has made 218 roster moves in 2018. LHP Shawn Morimando became the 70th different player to appear in a Bisons uniform in his start on Saturday night. The most players in a single season to appear in a game since 2013 is 73. The most roster moves in one season of the affiliation with the Toronto Blue Jays is 239. Both marks reached in 2014.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (55-68) have lost two straight games to the New York Yankees. On Saturday, the Blue Jays were downed 11-6 in the Bronx. LHP Ryan Borucki will face ex-Bisons and Blue Jays LHP J.A. Happ to close out their three-game series. Toronto returns home on Monday to begin a six-game, seven-day homestand against the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies.
