(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - RHP Asher Wojciechowski struck-out nine batters over seven solid innings, but the Charlotte Knights lost to the Louisville Bats by a score of 3-1 on Sunday in the finale of their four-game series from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The two teams split the series with two wins apiece.

Wojciechowski (5-9, 4.41) tossed his most impressive outing with the Knights this season. He threw 96 pitches on the day and did not walk a batter. Charlotte relievers Ryan Burr and Gregory Infante allowed a run each over the final two innings combined.

The Knights scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning courtesy of a sacrifice-fly RBI by center fielder Ryan Cordell. The Knights brought the tying run to first base and the winning run to the plate, but fell just short in the end. Left fielder Eloy Jiménez struck-out to end the game for the Knights.

Charlotte shortstop Jake Elmore went 2-for-4 with a run scored on the day. Elmore is now batting .291 on the season. Cordell finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Louisville RHP Tyler Mahle (1-1, 3.18) allowed just two hits over six shutout innings to earn the win. He struck-out six batters and walked three.

The Knights will now have an off day on Monday before hitting the road for a series with the Norfolk Tides on Tuesday night from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. The two teams will resume a suspended game at 5:05 p.m. and play that to completion. The teams will then play the regularly scheduled matchup. Pre-game radio coverage will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action.
