Bismarck Bobcats News Release
The Bismarck Bobcats (32-13-1, 65 points) play a two-game home series against the Albert Lea Thunder (2-40-4, 8 points) beginning Friday night in the V.F.W. Sports Center. Currently, the Bobcats have won 17 of their last 20 games and are on a three-game winning streak. Bismarck has only lost one game on home ice since November 28, 2008 and has only lost four home games in the V.F.W Sports Center this season.
Despite the record, the Thunder have won a game against the Bobcats 3-1 on October 25, 2008. Nonetheless, the Bobcats do control the season series 8-1.
The Bobcats have struggled lately on the power play and have dropped to sixth in the North American Hockey League 17.3%. Conversely, Bismarck's penalty kill has only allowed one goal in the month of February and have climbed to third in the NAHL at 88.1%.
Albert Lea's power play is ranked last in the NAHL at 10.0%, while their penalty kill is also ranked 19th in the league at 77.2%.
