MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (22-24) rolled over the Chattanooga Lookouts (27-25) 5-2 Wednesday night at Riverwalk Stadium as they moved to four wins in a row and seven in their last eight.
Austin Shenton started the night off right for the Biscuits with a line drive RBI-single to center for the Biscuits to get on the board 1-0. In the second inning, Curtis Mead reached on a fielder's choice that brought Tyler Frank home and extended the score to 2-0 Montgomery.
In the bottom of the fifth, Montgomery Niko Hulsizer blasted a solo home run that put the Biscuits up 3-0. Hulsizer has hit a home run in his last two games. In the next inning, Grant Witherspoon has been on a hot streak, and kept it going after he hit a solo home run to left field that grew the Biscuit lead to four.
The Lookouts remained scoreless until the top of the seventh when Matt McLain connected on a two-run RBI-double off a fresh Biscuits relief Trevor Brigden, that cut the lead in half 4-2. In the bottom of the eighth, a throwing error by McLain allowed Mead to score and the Biscuits to go up 5-2.
In closing time, Jose Lopez came in to lock up and secure the win and the save as the Biscuits moved to four in a row. Montgomery looks to continue their winning streak when Evan McKendry (0-1, 3.55) faces Connor Curlis (1-2, 5.73) for Tank Top Giveaways pres. by ALFA Insurance & Thirsty Thursday on Thursday June 9th at 6:35 PM CT
