PEARL, MS -- The Montgomery Biscuits broke a 10-game losing skid with a 4-2 victory over the Mississippi Braves Friday evening at Trustmark Park. There was no movement atop the Southern League South Division standings as Mobile and Jacksonville also lost games Friday. The series finale is slated for 6:00 PM Saturday.

Mississippi (32-22, 71-52) plated two runs on 11 hits while Montgomery (23-31, 58-66) scored four runs on nine hits. Barrett Kleinknecht, Cedric Hunter and Braeden Schlehuber all had two-hit nights for the M-Braves.

The Biscuits took a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Cameron Seitzer doubled with two outs and Jeff Malm was hit by a pitch. Luke Maile then delivered a ground-rule double to left field, plating Seitzer for the game's first run.

In the top fifth, Kes Carter tripled and scored on a Willie Argo sacrifice fly-giving the Biscuits a 2-0 advantage.

The M-Braves loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth with one out but an inning-ending double play ruined the threat.

Montgomery made it a 4-0 game in the eighth. Malm doubled to left field with two outs and Maile walked. Richie Shaffer then singled to left, driving home Malm. Carter followed with another base hit to left, scoring Maile on the play.

Kleinknecht led off the bottom of the eighth with a single to center. Kyle Kubitza then tripled to right-center field, driving home Kleinknecht and cutting the Biscuits lead to 4-1. David Rohm then grounded out, allowing Kubitza to score and make it a 4-2 game.

Grayson Garvin (1-7) held the Braves to eight hits in six innings pitched to pick up his first win. He also struck out six batters. Ryan Weber (5-6) gave up two earned runs on six hits and took the loss. He struck out six batters in six innings of work. Bryce Stowell (S, 1) came on in the ninth to save the game.

In Saturday's series finale at Trustmark Park, M-Braves right-hander Mitch Atkins (5-0, 3.89) toes the rubber. He'll counter Biscuits righty Victor Mateo (10-9, 3.75). First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM. Gates open at 5:00 PM for the first of the M-Braves two annual Fan Appreciation Nights.
