Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY -- The Montgomery Biscuits have just begun to serve up tickets for their 2005 season, and a hungry Montgomery community is gobbling them up.

The Biscuits have only just finished an inaugural season with attendance numbers that exceeded all expectations. Judging from early indications, it appears that 2005 will see a large jump in attendance from 2004.

The Biscuits began sales of nightly luxury suites at the open of business on Thursday, Sept. 30. They also began accepting renewals and orders from clients that ordered group tickets or reserved a picnic venue in 2004. The results over three business days have been staggering.

Already, one-third of the groups from 2004 have renewed, and more are expected to book dates in the coming weeks. Group sizes will be larger in 2005 as well. Already, the Biscuits have booked nearly 35,000 group tickets, nearly half of the total for all of 2004.

"We're anticipating a very high renewal rate for our groups in 2005," said Biscuits Director of Sales Patrick Day. "The feedback we received in 2004 was very positive, and we're looking forward to showing those groups a great time again.

"We're finding that the groups that have renewed enjoyed their first experience so much that they're bringing even larger groups this season. Last year, they brought the classroom, and this year they're bringing the whole school. Last year, they brought the family and this year, they're brining the entire family reunion."

Group tickets and picnic venues will open to all groups on Monday, Oct. 18, after the exclusive early bird booking period is over.

Luxury suite sales have been torrid as well.

Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium is fitted with 20 luxury suites. While most are sold in five-year corporate deals, two are available for nightly rental. In just three days, 75 percent of all available nights in the two luxury suites have sold out. The Biscuits play 70 home games each season, creating 140 available suite rentals. Of those, 105 have been snapped up and only 35 remain.

"We've had a list of corporations chomping at the bit for an opportunity to order their suites for 2005," Day said. "The businesses that held nightly suites in 2004 found that they were an outstanding option to treat employees and valued clients. In three days, we've sold almost as many nights for 2005 as we did all of last year."

2004 season ticket holders will begin renewing their tickets in two weeks during an exclusive booking period. 12-Pack and 35-Pack holders have until Nov. 15 to renew or re-order, while Full Season ticket holders have until Dec. 1. Season tickets will become available to the general public on Dec. 2. Remaining individual tickets to 2005 games will go on sale to the general public in mid-March.

The Biscuits finished second in the Southern League last season by averaging 4,820 fans per game, for a total attendance of 322,946.

"We have maintained from the very beginning that the attendance number would be higher in our second season," said General Manager of Sales and Marketing Megan Frazer. "Before the first season, very few of our prospective clients knew what to expect and even fewer could envision what a beautiful facility [Riverwalk Stadium] was going to be. After a year of experiencing this ballpark, Biscuits tickets are a known commodity, and that's why so many people have reserved their groups tickets and venues so quickly."

Anyone interested in booking a group or reserving a venue for 2005 should contact Day at 334-323-0375. Additional information is available on the Biscuits' website, www.biscuitsbaseball.com.
