Birmingham Squadron News Release
BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, is hosting a local tryout on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at 9 a.m. CT. The current location is to be announced at a later date on the Squadron website.
The tryout gives participants a chance to showcase their talents in front of Squadron coaches and front office staff for the opportunity to make the Squadron roster and participate in the team's fall training camp.
Player tryouts are held by the Squadron and other NBA G League teams annually. Participating provides the opportunity for local talent to see high-level playing time and for coaches to find hidden talent.
"There's not a better way to connect with your community than adding local talent to the organization. We can't wait to see what lies ahead," said Marc Chasanoff, General Manager of Basketball Operations.
To enter, participants will need to fill out a registration form on the Squadron's website, https://birmingham.gleague.nba.com/tryout/. There will be a non-refundable fee of $260 to register and participate, this includes the cost of one tryout jersey. Participants must meet the NBA G League eligibility requirements to play. Only the first 100 participants that provide payment will be invited to the tryout. Participants are required to submit the $260 fee along with a registration form, medical consent form and eligibility form by September 16th at 5:00 p.m. CT. All forms are available on the tryout webpage.
Please direct any questions about registration to bhaminfo@pelicans.com.
