
Birmingham Squadron Take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in Weekend Series

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Squadron (2-2), NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, travel to Edinburg, Texas to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (6-0) in a weekend series, playing on Friday and Sunday night. Friday's contest at the Burt Ogden Arena tips off at 7:30 p.m. CT and Sunday's tip is set for 6:00 p.m. CT.
The Squadron broadcast will air live locally on My68 and V94.9 FM, and fans can watch the live stream online on the team's website at https://birmingham.gleague.nba.com/live/. Friday's coverage will be brought to you by Blake Gardner and Rick Moody. Eli Gold, the official voice of the Squadron, will join the broadcast for Sunday night's game. My68 is carried by most major streaming services like YouTube TV and Sling, as well as most major cable providers such as Dish, Direct TV, Spectrum and Comcast.
The Squadron (2-2) have built a reputation on the defensive end, forcing 21.3 turnovers per game so far this season, the fourth most in the G League. Among those turnovers, 44 of them have been steals, giving Birmingham an average of 11.0 steals per game, tied for the fourth best average in the G League.
The Squadron have been led by guard Jared Harper on the offensive end. He is averaging 22.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 32.5 minutes. His 22.8 points per game rank 14th in the league, while his .444 percentage from behind the arc ranks 11th in the league (min. 25 attempts).
The Vipers (6-0) are one of two teams left unbeaten in the G League. They are led by guard Trevelin Queen who ranks seventh in the league with 25.2 points per game. He also averages 5.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.8 steals on 33.1 minutes per game this season.
