Billings Outlaws News Release
This is the opening day roster for the Billings Outlaws.
Quarterbacks
First Name Last Name Position Age Height (ft) Weight (lbs)
ISAAC HARKER QB 28 6'1 195
DANIEL SOUTHWICK QB 42 6'1 210
NIK RANGO QB 25 6'1 215
The Outlaws will be lead by a trio of Quarterbacks Isaac Harker, Daniel Southwick and Nik Rango. All three have had some exprience at the professional level. Southwick will likely get the first crack at starting coming with 16 years of professional exprience from NFL to multpile stops in various arena leagues. Heckler will join the Outlaws from the CFL with exprience at one of the best DII programs in the nation (Colorado School of Mines). Rango will also be coming from the CFl with stops in Europe as well. THe Outlaws will have a very well rounded QB room and any of these guys can lead this team.
Fullback/Linebacker
First Name Last Name Position Height (ft) Weight (lbs) College
JOEL BLANKENSHIP FB/ PLUG 6'1 250 SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIV
SIAOSI FINAU FB/ PLUG 6'1 250 COLORADO MESA
HUNTER SWOBODA FB/ PLUG/DE 6'4 255 QUACHITA
The FB/LB role is lead by a trio of hard nose runners. All three have exprience playing linebackers and running back in their past. If you look at their build, you can see they will not be easy to bring done and you will not want to be hit by them. All thre are built like boulders. Swoboda will slide more on the line while Finau and Blankenship will be your typical Mac type linebacker.
Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
First Name Last Name Position Height (ft) Weight (lbs) College
ARMAND CHILDS DB/WR 5'11 190 KANSAS WESLEYAN
OMAR HEMPHILL-TOLEDO DB/WR 5'11 185 ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE
DERRICK HARVEY DB/WR 6'0 190 MT UNION
DUANE BROWN DB/WR 5'11 185 IUP UNIVERSITY
This group will be one of the better positions in the league. The names are not well known yet but they will be. Hemphill-Toledo will be ideal for weaving in and out of traffic, smaller player who can find pace but big enough to take a hit. Brown Harvey and Childs will be more of your motion type wideouts. Used moving around the field, inside, outside, and on the move.
Wide Receiver/Fullback/Linebacker
First Name Last Name Position Height (ft) Weight (lbs) College
KARONCE HIGGINS WR/MIKE 6'1 190 SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
ARTHUR ANDERSON IV WR/MIKE 6'1 190 CONCORDIA UNIV-NEBRASKA
DALLAS DIXON WR/MIKE 6'1 201 CENTRAL MICHIGAN
This group is built around the prototypical size you would want in a coverage linebacker. This unit needs to be big enough to defend a tightend but fast enought to cover a smaller agile wide reciever. All three are 6-1 and sitting near 200 pounds. Higgins, Anderson IV and Dixon all had led their college teams and can help the Outlaws. They will also take on more of the change of pace running back compared to the fullbacks. Used a as a pass catching back. These guys are Mr. Do It All.
Lineman
First Name Last Name Position Height (ft) Weight (lbs) College
TYRESE BOBBITT OL/DL 6'4 325 SHAW UNIVERSITY
PAYTON MULJO G/DL 6'6 315 NORTHERN MICHIGAN
TERRANCE AMES JR G/DL 6'1 318 VIRGINA UNION
KEATON DAVIS C/G 6'1 300 KENTUCKY STATE
JAMEZZ KIMBROUGH C/G 6'3 295 CENTRAL MICHIGAN
JOHN WHITESIDE DL/TE 6'1 295 CENTRAL MICHIGAN
TANNER HARRELL DL/TE 6'1 300 WESTERN MONTANA
DEVONTE WRIGHT DL/TE/FB 6'0 290 KENTUCKY STATE
Cedric Walker on media day spoke how the trenches were one of if not the most important parts of the roster. If you looked up and down the roster the lineman have unbelievable size. They aren't just large humans either they are great athletes, quick, mobile and big. Kimbrough and Whiteside played together out of Central Michigan so there is already some familiarity to this unit. Whoever starts at quarterback will be well protected. Opposing teams will need to make sure they can match the Outlaws physicallity because they will also be a problem getting after the quarterback.
KICKER
First Name Last Name Position Height (ft) Weight (lbs) College
BAILEY GIFFEN K 5'9 185 LAMAR
