
Bighorns Torched by D-Fenders

RENO, NEV.- The Reno Bighorns got torched by the Los Angeles D-Fenders Friday night, losing a 78-109 rout. The Bighorns were led by Blake Ahearn's 22 points and Hassan Whiteside's 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Elijah Millsap had 23 points and 7 rebounds for the D-Fenders.
The game marked the return of former Bighorns head coach Eric Musselman to Reno, who now coaches the D-Fenders. The Bighorns are now 1-2 against the D-Fenders this season.
The D-Fenders lived up to their name, creating 27 turnovers and scoring 40 points off those turnovers. The Bighorns were held to a season-low 78 points, shooting only 38.5 percent from the field. The D-Fenders outscored the Bighorns 22 to four on fast break points, including an array of vicious dunks from D-Fenders' Zach Andrews and Gerald Green.
The Bighorns travel to take on the D-Fenders in El Segundo on Saturday. The team returns to Reno for a matchup with head coach Paul Mokeski's former team the Rio Grande Valley Vipers as part of the NBA D-League Showcase at the Reno Events Center.
