
Bighorns top Billings 6-2 for weekend sweep at home

The 'Horns (6-15-3) peppered Billings with 54 shots en route route the victory. Matt Gassman (4-2-1) was solid in net for the Big Blue, turning away 24 of 26 shots to go with his win on Friday.
Bighorns Head Coach, Mike Butters, was pleased with the effort of his troops over the past two games. "It was good to see the fellas put forth a solid both nights. Some of our players stepped up their game and it seemed to rub off on the entire team." Butters added, "We have a lot of work to do but this was definitely a step in the right direction.
Helena got their fans on their feet late in the first period with goals from Andy Gevorkyan and Ross Janecyk and the Big Blue opened up the scoring in the second with two goals from Blake Page and Jeff Olitch.
Helena made it 5-0 at the midway point of the 3rd period when Steve Smiddy converted on a solid passing play from Jack Day and Ross Janecyk. After a Billings goal, Helena scored their 6th of the evening when Josh Kamrass banged home a rebound.
Next up for the Bighorns is a trip to Billings Wednesday night where they have an opportunity to pass the Bulls in the standings. Currently, Helena trails Billings by 1 point in the NAHL Western Division Standings. The game can be heard live with Arck Ecker providing the play-by play on 1340 KCAP and sportsjuice.com. The action starts at 6:45pm with the pre-game show followed by the action at 7:05pm.
