Helena Bighorns News Release
The Helena Bighorns announced Friday that they have found their play by play announcer for the upcoming 2006-2007 season.
Jordan Duvall, who up until recently, was the voice of the Colorado State University Rams hockey team. The recent CSU graduate joins the Bighorns right before they enter into their training camp next weekend at the Helena Ice Arena.
Duvall has a solid background in sports media interned for the Colorado Eagles (CHL) pro hockey team while attending college. He has previously hosted a weekly sports call in show in Ft. Collins and has had many assignments as a hockey journalist.
Bighorn President, Mike Butters, said that Duvall was the right fit for the Cascade Cup Champion Bighorns. "We sifted through over 40 applications and when it came down to it, Jordan's audition tape just kept coming back. After speaking with him and seeing where his passion was, we knew he was our man." Butters added, "His youth and exuberance will show up in his broadcasts. I am confident that this will be a good fit and he (Duvall) will quickly establish himself with our radio listeners.
Duvall will have little time to prepare himself as he must acquaint himself with the queen city and the team that has won the hearts of its fans by capturing back to back league titles. Duvall and his wife are expected to arrive in Helena next week and see some of the Bighorn hopefuls at main camp.
Fans are reminded that the 6th annual Blue/White Classic is scheduled for next Sunday at 7:05 pm and will feature the best players vying for a spot with this year's Bighorns. Season tickets are on sale now and will be available for purchase at Sunday's game.
