Bighorns Lose Second Straight Close Game in Santa Cruz

Reno, Nev., Feb. 27, 2013 - The Reno Bighorns (13-20) lost another close game to the Santa Cruz Warriors (21-12) 101-96 Wednesday night.

For the second night in a row, the two teams played a close game throughout, with 16 lead changes and five ties in the game.

Ronald Dupree, in his second game with Reno, had a team-high 22 points and 13 rebounds. Samardo Samuels notched another double-double, with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Marcus Landry and Desmon Farmer each had 14 points for the Bighorns.

The Warriors were led by Stefhon Hannah's 21 points. Santa Cruz shot 43.7% from the field, compared to Reno's 32.9%. The Bighorns were able to stay in the game with their free throw shooting. Reno took 45 free throws, sinking 30 of them. The Warriors went 17-30 from the charity stripe.

Reno was out-scored in the paint 52-34. Santa Cruz now leads the season series 5-1. The two teams will face each twice more this season, once in Santa Cruz and once in Reno.

The Bighorns continue their road trip on Friday, taking on the Tulsa 66ers in Oklahoma.

Reno returns home on Thursday, March 7th to face the Idaho Stampede.
