
Bighorns ground BayHawks' comeback, 108-101

Reno-- In another close game the Reno Bighorns were able to outscore the Erie BayHawks 7-0 in the final 2 minutes to pull away for a 108-101 victory.
In the first quarter both teams came out shooting a high percentage, the BayHawks with 56% and the Bighorns firing at 60%. The BayHawks only allowed three Bighorns to score. Alton Ford going 4-4 from the field as well as the free-throw line lead the Bighorns with 12 points. Richie Frahm added 11 points, going 4-5 from the field including 3-3 from beyond the arc.
The Bighorns outscored the BayHawks 32-22 in the second quarter to take 57-53 lead into the locker room. Forward, Maureece Rice led the BayHawks in the first half with 17 points going 8-14 from the field.
In the second half the Bighorns were unable to pull away from a scrappy BayHawks team, as Erie forced 22 turnovers in the game.
The BayHawks were able to take the lead away from the Bighorns momentarily, after a 12-2 run. The Bighorns were able to finally dispatch the BayHawks with an 7-0 run of their own.
Frahm was the Bighorns leading scorer with 28 points. David Noel added a double-double of 18 points and 14 assists. Maureece Rice led all scorers with 37 points.
The Bighorns will host the Albuquerque Thunderbirds Sunday, April 4, in the Reno Events Center at 3:00 p.m.
