Reno Bighorns News Release

CEDAR PARK, Texas-Marcus Cousin hit a game-winning layup with 1.6 seconds left to lift the Austin Toros over the Reno Bighorns Wednesday morning in the Cedar Park Center, 97-95.

The Bighorns led 93-88 with under three minutes to play, but Austin would roar back down the stretch to hand Reno its fourth-straight road loss. With the game tied at 95, Toros point guard Squeaky Johnson drove the lane and lobbed a pass to Cousin, who converted the eventual game-winning basket. After a timeout, Reno's Salim Stoudamire had an open three-point attempt at the buzzer, but the potential game-winner was off the mark and Austin escaped with the win.

Newly acquired Danny Green led the Bighorns with 22 points, while adding eight rebounds and connecting on 4-of-6 from three-point range. Donald Sloan had 21 points and a team-high nine rebounds for Reno, which has lost its last four games by a total of just 14 points.

Cousin poured in 22 points for the Toros, which snapped a short two-game skid with the victory. Johnson chipped in with nine points and a game-high nine assists. The Bighorns return home on Friday, January 28, against the Bakersfield Jam. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PT, and tickets are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets by calling (775) 284-2622 or visiting ticketmaster.com or the Silver Legacy box office.
