NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2011 - The Toronto Raptors signed guard Trey Johnson of the Bakersfield Jam for the sixth GATORADE Call-Up of the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. Johnson's call-up increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience, including players currently on assignment to their NBA D-League affiliates, to 84.

The NBA D-League's leading scorer, Johnson averaged 25.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 26 games (all starts), leading the Jam to a 16-10 record. Johnson scored in double figures in every game this season, and in his last five games shot 58.3 percent from the field, averaging 29.4 points.

Johnson (6-5, 215) earned two GATORADE Call-Ups to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008-09, and spent the 2010 NBA preseason with the Los Angeles Lakers. A fourth-year pro, Johnson averaged 25.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in two collegiate seasons at Jackson State. In 2006-07, Johnson was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and his 27.1 points per game that season led the nation.

Johnson is expected to join the Raptors today, and should be available when Toronto hosts the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre.
