RENO - The Reno Bighorns scored 32 points in the first quarter and never trailed Friday night, defeating the Bakersfield Jam by a score of 113-97 in the Reno Events Center.
The Bighorns held a 32-13 lead after the first period and never looked back. Reno led by 20 at the break and went to the fourth quarter with a 25-point advantage.
Simmons led six Bighorns in double figures with 25 on the night. Marcus Landry scored 19, Donald Sloan kicked-in 16 with nine assists, and Mo Charlo added 14 points and nine boards.
The Bighorns out-rebounded Bakersfield 47-37, and Reno shot 48.9 percent from the floor.
Bakersfield (29-20) was led by 34-point night from Willie Warren. Jeremy Wise added 28 for the Jam, as the duo accounted for better than 63 percent of Bakersfield's total points.
The Bighorns and Jam will meet again on Saturday night to close out the regular season. Tip-time from the Jam Events Center is set for 7 p.m. PT.
