BayHawks Waive Spain Due to Injury, Add Guard

Erie, Pennsylvania, Saturday, April 2, 2011 - The Erie BayHawks have waived guard Kyle Spain due to injury and have acquired guard Chaz McCrommon from the league's available player pool.

Spain is suffering from tendonitis in his left knee and could return for the post-season.

McCrommon, 6-6, 200 lbs, is a native of Pittsburgh and played four years at Robert Morris where as a senior in 2004-05 he averaged 16.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Colonials.

McCrommon, 29, most recently played in Holland during the 2008-09 season and is expected to be in uniform for the BayHawks tonight.

Erie has clinched the fifth seed in the NBA Development League playoffs and plays their final game of the regular season Saturday night as they host the Maine Red Claws at Tullio Arena. Tip-off is set for 7pm. Playoff match-ups and first round game dates will be announced Sunday night.

Tonight's game is being broadcast tape-delay to a national TV audience on VERSUS at 11 pm ET.
