
Big Second Lifts Wheat Kings Past Rockets

The Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the Kelowna Rockets 5-3 Tuesday night in Brandon in Western Hockey League play.
The Wheat Kings scored three second-period goals on the way to the win, taking a stranglehold on a game that was tied 1-1 tie after one period of play.
Down 4-1 after two, Kelowna scored twice in the third period but couldn't muster a comeback despite outshooting the Wheat Kings 19-12 in the final frame.
Colton Sissons scored twice for the Rockets, his 17th and 18th of the season. Sissons two goals puts him in 13th position in WHL goal scoring. Carter Rigby added his ninth of the season.
Adam Brown faced 40 shots in the game in the Rockets net.
Overall the decision left the Rockets at 12-16-2-2, in seventh place in the WHL Western Conference.
The team is now 0-2-0-1 on its six game road trip. Kelowna continues the trip in Regina on Wednesday night before moving on to Prince Albert (Dec. 16) and Saskatoon (Dec. 17).
The Rockets next home game is Dec. 27 against Spokane.
