Corpus Christi Hooks News Release

FIELD OF DREAMS - The Hooks may not have qualified for the playoffs during the 2005 season, but the field judged to be the best in the Texas League has also been chosen as the best at the Double-A level. This according to the good folks with the Sports Turf Managers Association, who have awarded Hooks' Field Superintendent Brad Detmore its Double-A Sports Turf Manager of the Year Award. The STMA will present Brad with the hardware during the Baseball Winter Meetings, which will be held in Dallas during the first full week of December.

Not only did Brad and Whataburger Field receive recognition as the best in Double-A, but Dennis Klein and the Dell Diamond in Round Rock were honored for being the best at the Triple-A level. Klein has been a classification winner in each of the two seasons that the STMA has teamed up with Minor League Baseball to recognize the top groundskeepers at each level of play in the minors.

You can read more about the honors for Detmore and Klein on our website at www.cchooks.com.
