Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Black Hawks' 9-1 win against the Des Moines Buccaneers on Saturday yielded the biggest single-game donation by Fahr Beverage for Folds of Honor in over two years.
When Black Hawks players score a goal at Young Arena, Fahr Beverage, the local distributor of Budweiser products, contributes $25 to the charitable organization. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided thousands of scholarships, plus other educational assistance, to those who have lost a parent or spouse serving in the armed forces during the years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Saturday's goal total was the biggest for the Hawks at home since topping the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 10-2 on February 11, 2017.
"Players and fans alike are excited anytime we can celebrate a high-scoring win, and this program is one more reason that a game like Saturday is special," said Waterloo Black Hawks President Business Operations Joe Greene. "I would like to thank Fahr Beverage for their steadfast support of this program."
Black Hawks fans have the opportunity to join the cause by pledging any amount per goal. Pledges will also be accepted to correspond with each home goal scored by individual players. With a 25â per team goal contribution, approximately $30 would be raised by the end of the season. Sign up to make a pledge or contribution of any type at the Fan Service Table during Black Hawks home games at Young Arena.
