
Big Innings Boost Blue Claws Over Suns

Lakewood, NJ - The Hagerstown Suns (6-4) could not overcome a pair of big innings as the Lakewood Blue Claws (4-6) scored six runs in the 3rd and seven runs in the 6th to run away with a 14-4 victory in Lakewood, NJ on Saturday.
Hagerstown's Caleb Ramsey hit his second triple of the season and went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, while Matt Skole added another RBI to his league leading total of 14. Jason Martinson also knocked in his ninth RBI of the season.
Suns starter Chris McKenzie (0-1) took the loss allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits, three walks and one strike out. All three Suns relief pitchers who entered the game allowed at least one run; Christian Meza was hit for five runs (four earned) in three innings of relief; Alex Kreis gave up two runs in two innings; Bobby Lucas allowed one runs in one inning of work.
Lakewood third baseman Maikel Franco went 3-for-5 with a double, two-run home run and three RBIs to lead the way for the winners. First baseman Kelly Dugan (1-for-3, 2 R, 2 BB) and designated hitter Aaron Altherr (2-for-4, 2B) each drove in a pair of runs.
Blue Claws starter Colin Kleven (1-1) earned the win pitching six innings allowing three unearned runs on three hits, four walks and five strike outs.
The Suns will try for a split of the four game series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. when RHP Wirkin Estevez (1-0) takes the mound against Blue Claws' left-hander Lino Martinez (1-0).
