Dylan Bundy to Make First Home Start on Tuesday

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds are excited to announce that Orioles top prospect Dylan Bundy is scheduled to make his first start at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Tuesday, April 17 against the Hagerstown Suns. Bundy, the top prospect in the system according to Baseball America, was the fourth overall selection in the 2011 First Year Player Draft.

In his first two professional outings on the road, Bundy dazzled against the Asheville Tourists and Kannapolis Intimidators. The 19-year old has pitched six perfect innings, retiring all 18 batters that have come to the plate against him. Bundy has 12 strikeouts in just six innings on the mound.

Bundy was selected by the Orioles out of Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was a three-time recipient of the Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year honor and in 2011, he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year. Bundy posted an 11-0 record with a 0.20 ERA in his senior season of high school with 158 strikeouts in just 71 innings. He hurled eight complete game shutouts.

Bundy was signed to a major league contract by the Orioles and is part of the 40-man roster.
