Cary Invasion News Release
Fayetteville, NC: Two of the most physical teams in the TRBL, the Cary Invasion and the Fayetteville Crossover, went to head-to-head in Fayetteville on Friday night with the East Division lead at stake. Both teams entered the game undefeated with a chance to make a statement.
Cary started the game hot, hitting ten 3 pointers and finishing with 45 points and building a 19-point lead in the first quarter. Fayetteville turned the inside heat up in the second quarter, pushing the ball to its post players and yielding little further ground. Cary led by 21 at the halftime break.
Determined to make it a game, the Crossover continued to effectively work inside in the second half, cutting the Cary lead to as few as a dozen points on multiple occasions. But, Fayetteville could not get any closer, and Cary's big first quarter proved too big to overcome. Invasion guard Freddie Little (Montivello) led all scorers with 32 points.
The Crossover (2-1) next host Wilmington on Sunday, April 21st at 7 pm at the JD Fuller Center. Cary (3-0) next plays at home in the second and final game of the season series against Fayetteville on April 27th at 5 pm at the Young Center. For more information, please write info@caryinvasion.com.
