Montreal, December 5, 2010 - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal is happy to celebrate the children's Christmas party with the Montreal Junior Hockey team. The event will take place on December 11th at 1pm, at the Verdun Auditorium.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal has acquired throughout the years, a unique expertise in mentorship. Since its foundation in 1975, BBBSGM, which has celebrated 35 years this year, has paired more than 6000 children in need of a significant presence in their lives. In addition to the Traditional Pairing program, since 1989 our agency also offers In-school Mentoring and Tutoring programs. The goal of these programs is to reduce the school dropout rate and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The head coach of the Montreal Junior and the francophone spokesperson of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal, Pascal Vincent, wished to offer our children, who may come from underprivileged neighbourhoods, an unforgettable memory for this holiday season. In a festive ambiance, children can skate with their favourite hockey players, their mascot Snoro as well as Santa Claus. The distribution of gifts to all of our children as well as gift draws will also be part of this magical day.
