LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts are proud to open the 2012 Lugnuts Jersey Auction, with all proceeds to support the Capital Area United Way. The silent auction will conclude on Saturday, August 25th, during the Lugnuts' 7:05 p.m. game against Fort Wayne.

"The Lugnuts are committed to helping the community," said Lansing Lugnuts Co-Owner Sherrie Myers. "This auction both benefits the Capital Area United Way while at the same time offering our fans the opportunity to own a piece of Lugnuts history."

The auction for the Lugnuts' black and red road jerseys begins at http://www.32auctions.com/lugnuts2012 . Bids open at $100.00.

That web auction will run until noon on Friday, at which time the highest bids on each jersey will be used as the starting bids for the live silent auction during Lugnut Charities Night, presented by Dan Henry Distributing.

Fans unable to attend are encouraged to place the highest possible online bid for the best chance to win.

At the conclusion of the live silent auction, the winning bidders will receive their jersey directly from the Lugnuts' players during a ceremony following the game.

There will be several presentations throughout Lugnut Charities Night with the Lugnuts' partner charities: Capital Area United Way, Impression 5 Science Center, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan and The Lansing Promise Foundation.

Following the postgame jersey ceremony, fans will be treated to a spectacular LAFCU Fireworks show.
