Bev's Floral to Provide "Sweetheart of the Game" Promotion

Wisconsin Rapids, WI- May 1, 2012. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters announced today that they have partnered up with Bev's Floral & Gifts to provide a new and exciting game day promotion in 2012. Bev's Floral will be the presenting sponsor of the "Bev's Floral Sweetheart of the Game" promotion during 17 Rafters home games this summer. The Rafters also announced that Taco John's will present the "Breakfast Burrito Challenge" again this year.

During 17 home games in 2012, one lucky fan will have the opportunity to receive two bleacher tickets to a Rafters game for them and a guest. In between one inning during the game, their guest will be presented with a dozen roses by the Rafters mascot, Rosco P. Rafter, all courtesy of Bev's Floral & Gifts.

"Bev's Floral is very excited to be a sponsor of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 2012 Season with the Sweetheart of the Game Promotion," commented Debbie Freeberg of Bev's Floral & Gifts. "Go to the Rafters website and tell us about your sweetheart, special celebration or occasion and one lucky winner will be selected to receive one dozen premium long stemmed red roses during a game this summer."

All fans interested in taking part in this promotion will have the chance to submit an e-mail to john@raftersbaseball.com or call the Rafters office at 715-424-5400 explaining the reason as to why their sweetheart should receive a bouquet of roses during a Rafters game. Each week during the season winners will be contacted by the Rafters staff and directed to pick up their tickets at Bev's Floral on 8th Street in Wisconsin Rapids for the game they are selected to attend. Some occasions that would be ideal for the recipient of the flower bouquet include: Anniversary, birthday, recently married, engagement, special achievement, graduation, new baby, etc. There will be 17 games during which the promotion will take place during the upcoming season.

The Rafters also announced today that they will again partner with Taco John's to present the "Breakfast Burrito Challenge" again in 2012. Fans can sign up at Taco John's in Wisconsin Rapids for their chance to win a pair of tickets to a Rafters home game and the opportunity to participate in an exciting on-field promotion.

Two winners will be chosen for eight home games (that's 16 winners!) and each winner will receive two tickets to a pre-determined Rafters home game during the 2012 Season. The challenge will feature two individuals racing against each other to put an oversized breakfast burrito together. The first contestant to build the breakfast burrito and run it back to Rosco P. Rafter will win!

The Breakfast Burrito Challenge will take place on Opening Night 2012 and every Tuesday and Friday regularly scheduled Rafters home game (May 30th, June 5th, June 15th, June 26th, July 3rd, July 17th, August 3rd, and August 10th). Winners will be contacted by a member of the Rafters staff with additional details.

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are members of the 16-team summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Rafters will play a 70 game schedule with 35 home games in 2012. Opening Day at historic Witter Field is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th at 7:05 pm against the La Crosse Loggers.
