Berube Reassigned to Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have reassigned goaltender Jean-Francois Berube to Manchester, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today. Berube will join the Monarchs in Norfolk, Virginia as they prepare for Game 1 of the 2012 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinal against the Norfolk Admirals on Friday, April 20.

Berube, 20, recently wrapped up his first full professional season with the ECHL's Ontario Reign and collected a 17-13-4 record in 37 games along with four shutouts. A native of Repentigny, Quebec City, Berube logged 2,091 minutes, posted a goals-against-average of 2.87 and a 0.907 save percentage for the Reign this season. The 6-foot-1, 174-pound netminder posted a 32-7-8 record in 50 appearances while registering a 2.60 goals-against-average and a 0.902 save percentage for the Montreal Juniors of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the 2010-11 season. In three seasons with the Juniors, Berube finished with a 55-37-10 record, a 2.77 goals-against average and a 0.901 save percentage in 115 appearances. Berube earned his first professional win in his AHL debut on April 2, 2010 during a three game stint with the Monarchs at the end of the 2009-10 season. In three games with the Monarchs, Berube owns a 2-1-0 record, a 3.67 goals-against-average, and a 0.855 save percentage. Originally drafted by the Kings in the fourth-round (95th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Berube will wear No. 35 for the Monarchs.

The Monarchs will travel to the Norfolk Scope to play the Admirals for Game 1 of the 2012 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20.
