
Ben Brown Wins SAL Pitcher of the Week

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - BlueClaws pitcher Ben Brown struck out 13 over seven scoreless innings on Sunday at Wilmington and today was named South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week. Brown gave up just two hits and faced 22 batters over his seven innings, allowing two hits.
He is the first BlueClaw to win SAL Player or Pitcher of the Week so far this season. A right-hander from East Setauket, New York, has 101 strikeouts in 69 innings pitched this year and has struck out 10 or more in four of his 15 appearances.
Since May 1st, Brown has a 2.71 ERA with 90 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched.
The right-hander was the BlueClaws Opening Night starter for the second straight season. He was drafted in the 33rd round of the 2017 draft from Ward Melville High School in East Setauket.
