St. Cloud River Bats News Release
(St. Cloud, MN) In a crucial game with playoff implications, pitching took center stage. The Alexandria Beetles shut out the St. Cloud River Bats by 2-0 final.
Jon Richard pitched strongly for St. Cloud. He allowed just four base runners and rung up seven Beetles. Unfortunately for Richard he leaves as a loser for the third time this season.
The Beetles nabbed both of their runs in the second inning. Rick Devereaux knocked home Chad Bunting on a double. A sacrifice ground out by Jeremy Boyd added the final run of the game.
Bryan Haar and Kyle Stiner both had multi-hit efforts in defeat. The Bats fall 3.5 games back of the Beetles as they fight fora second half playoff spot.
These two teams will battle again tomorrow as the series shifts to Alexandria. The Bats return home Thursday for Vikings night presented by Bernick's Miller Lite.
Thursday will also begin $10 Thursdays at Joe Faber Field. Fans will receive a general admission ticket, a hat, a hot dog, and a coke for just ten bucks.
Get your tickets now at www.riverbats.com, or by calling 320-240-9798. Tickets can also be purchased at the River Bats ticket office, located in the MAC Complex neighboring Joe Faber Field.
