Beloit Sky Carp News Release

Beloit, WI- It was a beautiful Father's Day for baseball at Pohlman Field for the final game of the three game series, and the end of the Midwest League first half, between the Beloit Snappers and the Burlington Bees. It was the Bees who ended up taking the series, winning the game 6-2.

For the first time in the series, the Snappers got on the board first. In the bottom of the second, Tyler Grimes led off the inning with a single. J.D. Williams followed with a double. Grimes scored on an RBI ground out to second base by Nate Roberts.

Starter, RHP Matt Summers pitched three innings of hitless baseball. However, he encountered some trouble in the fourth inning giving up two singles, but was able to pitch out of it.

The Snappers scored again in the fifth inning. Again, it was Roberts who got the run in, with a ground out scoring Lin who singled. J.D. Williams also doubled in the inning, making the score 2-0 Snappers.

Then the Bees offense attacked. DH Bobby Crocker cooked up a two run HR in the sixth. The Bees also had HRs in the seventh and ninth innings.

LHP Ryan O'Rourke replaced Summers with runners on 1st and 2nd and only one out in the 8th. O'Rourke struck out the next two batters swinging to end the inning. He would add two more strikeouts in the ninth.

The Midwest League AllStar game is on Tuesday June 19th and eight Snappers have made the team. They include Jario Rodriguez, Miguel Sano, Tyler Grimes, Jhon Goncalves, Jason Wheeler, A.J.
