The battle for second place in the South Division continues to heat up. After taking the first game last night, Topeka was undone by three goals, one in each period, falling to a split of the series 3-2.

Down 2-0 in the second, Daniel Rzavsky found the net at 10:05 to cut the lead in half. On a power play late in the third, Ben Greiner beat Drew Vogle to restore the two goal edge. Tyler Poulsen scored on apower play of his own with less than two minutes remaining but it would not be enough. With the loss, Topeka remains only two points ahead of Rio in the standings.

In goal, Vogler stopped 15 of 18 shots and allowed one score on a power play. He falls to 7-8-2 in net on the season. For the Bees, Nick Schmit had 24 saves and improved to 10-6-1 on the year.
