Former Soo Eagle Putting up Solid Numbers for Big Blue in the Big 10

Former Soo Eagle, Zach Nagelvoort has been putting up some big numbers for the University of Michigan, in their first season in the Big 10.

The freshman net minder is 9-5-2 on the season with a sparkling goals against average of 1.91 and a save percentage of .936. He has been named Big 10 Player of the Week twice so far this season.

Other highlights for Nagelvoort this season...He stopped 29 of 31 shots in a 2-2 tie against Ferris St; helped Michigan earn 2-1 shootout win in seven rounds ... Made 32 saves in the win over Ohio State (11/29) ... Stopped all 36 shots faced in his career-first shutout vs. Niagara on 11/22 ...Recorded his first career win in his first start on 10/19 at UNH, stopping 22 of 24 shots to earn the victory...Made his Michigan debut in net on 10/18 at UNH, entering the game at 1:41 of the third period. Stopped all 15 shots faced, including a penalty shot in his first game action.

Michigan is currently ranked #10 in the latest uscho.com Division 1 Poll, and is second place in the Big 10.
