February 7, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Soo Eagles News Release
After an upset win by the men's ice hockey team, former Soo Eagle, Alexander Taulien, was named an Elmira College Athlete of the Week, for the week ending February 2, 2014.
Taulien was a major factor in the men's ice hockey team's 7-6 overtime win over No. 12 Utica College Friday night. The freshman talent recorded his first career hat trick against the Pioneers and also added an assist for four points on the night, the best single-game performance of his young career. Taulien had a hand in four of the five goals scored which turned a 2-1 Utica lead into a 6-4 EC advantage early in the third period.
Taulien and the men's ice hockey team have one game this week as they travel to Hobart College for a crucial ECAC West matchup. The Statesmen are tied for second place in the ECAC West, trailing EC by one point. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th.
