Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Burlington Bees defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 3-2 on Friday. David Lough's RBI double in the top of the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie. The pitching tandem of Matt Mitchell and Joe Augustine combined to hold Wisconsin to just three hits. The win was Burlington's sixth straight over the Rattlers.

Burlington (2-0 second half, 32-39 overall) scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Mike Moustakas doubled in the first run and scored later in the frame on a wild pitch.

The Rattlers (0-2, 31-37) scratched back to tie the game with single runs in the fourth and fifth. In the fourth, Edilio Colina reached second after a botched double play. He took third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ron Garth. Alex Meneses drew a two out walk in the fifth and went to second on another wild pitch. Jonathan Arias drove in Meneses with a single to center to even the game 2-2.

But, the Bees retook the lead in the top of the sixth. Jason Taylor singled with one out and stole second. Lough followed with a double down the right field line to drive in Taylor. That concluded the scoring.

Mitchell allowed two runs (one earned) on a pair of hits over five innings. Augustine pitched the final four innings, allowed one hit, and struck out three for his sixth save.

Game three of the series is set for Saturday night. Michael Pineda (4-2, 1.27) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Danny Gutierrez (1-0, 2.52) is set to start for the Bees. Game time is 6:35pm.
