Appleton, WI (June 20, 2008) - The Burlington Bees have taken the first two games of a four-game series against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The Bees won 3-2 Friday night and are now 2-0 in the second half of the Midwest League season.

The Bees once again took a first inning lead against the Timber Rattlers scoring two runs. With one out, Johnny Giavotella singled and then scored on a Mike Moustakas double. Moustakas moved to second on a ground-out before scoring on a wild pitch to give the Bees a 2-0 lead.

Wisconsin was able to tie the ballgame up after scoring a run in both the fourth and fifth innings. The Bees got the lead back in the sixth. With one out, Jason Taylor singled and then stole second base. Taylor then scored on a David Lough double and the Bees led 3-2.

Matt Mitchell got the start and pitched very well for the Bees. He picked up his fifth win of the season as he pitched five innings allowing two runs, one of which was earned on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Joe Augustine picked up his sixth save of the season as he pitched four innings allowing just one hit with two strikeouts and three walks. Augustine's day included waiting out a 21 minute delay due to rain.

The Bees had six hits in the contest but no one had more than one.

The Bees and Timber Rattlers continue the four-game series Saturday night. Danny Gutierrez is the expected starting pitcher for the Bees. First pitch is set for 6:35. The game can be heard on 1490 KBUR and online at www.GoBees.com.
