
Bees Announce Inaugural Opening Roster

(New Britain, Conn.) - New Britain Bees team officials today announced that the team has finalized the 27-man opening day roster for the club's first-ever Atlantic League of Professional Baseball season.
16 members of the opening day roster have experience at the AA level or higher, while players with MLB service time include Greg Golson, Josh Outman and Nick Greenwood. Eight players that are from, or attended, school in Connecticut, include Greenwood, Shawn Haviland, Anthony Hewitt, Kevin Rivers, Jovan Rosa, Cole Johnson, Anthony Marzi and Josh Zeid.. Following is the entire opening day New Britain Bees roster:
Pitchers (14): Colin Moberly, Josh Outman, Kyle Simon, Brandon Fry, Cole Johnson, Nick Greenwood, Grady Wood, Josh Zeid, Tim Boyce, Anthony Marzi, Brian Dupra, Jarret Leverett, Shawn Haviland, Craig Stem
Catchers (2): James Skelton, Nick Murphy
Infielders (6): Jonathan Roof, Steve Carrillo, Brandon Chaves, Norberto Susini, Jon Griffin, Jovan Rosa
Outfielders (4): Jon Jones, Greg Golson, Kevin Rivers, Anthony Hewitt,
Utility/Coach (1): Craig Maddox
Additionally, RHP Ali Williams has been released from his contract and LHP Shawn Gilblair has been placed on the inactive list. LHP Anthony Marzi and RHP Tim Boyce, who both attended spring training on tryouts, have been signed to contracts for the 2016 season.
Manager Stan Cliburn has also announced New Britain's starting rotation to begin the season. Josh Outman will toe the rubber in the Bees' inaugural game tonight against York, with Nick Greenwood (Friday, April 22), Cole Johnson (Saturday, April 23), and Brian Dupra (Sunday, April 24) to follow in the series... Kyle Simon will start Monday's (4/25) game against the Long Island Ducks.
Per Atlantic League rules, the Bees' roster may remain at a maximum of 27 until May 31, at which point, all ALPB rosters are allowed a maximum of 25 players. A full roster can be found online at http://nbbees.com/team/roster/.
