Beer Bashes Homer, Aces Fall Late to Bees 7-4

Reno, Nev. - In a tight game throughout the night, the Reno Aces (52-42) dropped the series opener against the Salt Lake Bees (45-49) by a 7-4 final score Tuesday night in front of 3,994 fans at Greater Nevada Field.

Tied at four in the eighth, the Bees were able to pull away with three unanswered runs in the final two innings for a 7-4 decision.

In the second inning, the Aces added four runs powered by a two-run single from Cooper Hummel and a 443-foot solo smash from Seth Beer for a 4-0 lead.

Dominic Fletcher delivered an impressive 4-for-4 night with a two doubles, a triple and a run scored in Tuesday night's loss. This was Fletcher's third four-hit performance for the Aces this season.

The loss was charged to J.B. Bukauskas after the right-hander allowed an earned run on two hits in the eighth.

Aces Notables:

Seth Beer: 1-for-4, HR, RBI, BB and extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Cooper Hummel: 2-for-5, 2 RBI.

Jake Hager: 1-for-3, RBI.

The Reno Aces will continue their six-game slate against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. After a 12-game road trip, Reno's squad will return to Greater Nevada Field for a six-game homestand against Salt Lake, starting Tuesday, August 16.
