Omaha, NE - The Omaha Beef professional indoor football team announces their first annual "Omaha Beef Turkey Drive."

The team encourages their fans and the Omaha community to assist them by donating turkeys for The Food Bank. In turn, The Food Bank will provide the turkeys to families for their holiday meals.

The Meatheads, the unofficial/official fan club of the Beef, the Prime Dancers and the Rump Roasters all will help champion this event for the Omaha community.

Beef Team President Dakota Crow looks forward to the fundraising effort. "I hope the entire Beef family, from our staff to our coaches to our generous fans, will help make the holidays better for people in the Omaha area by donating turkeys to The Food Bank. We here at the Beef are committed to being a part of the community and hope that our first-ever Beef turkey drive is a huge success."

Jewel Knapp, Development Director for The Food Bank, said the donation of turkeys is an excellent idea. "It would be wonderful for everyone in our city to have a holiday meal like this," she said.

The turkeys will need to be frozen upon delivery. They should be dropped off at the Beef office, which is located at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, 1804 Capitol Avenue, from 12 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 20.

The Omaha Beef will begin their ninth season in professional football in March 2008. For more information, visit www.beeffootball.com.
