Beef Travel to Quad City for Their Last Road Game

May 18, 2018 - Champions Indoor Football (CIF)
Omaha Beef News Release

The Omaha Beef (4-5) hit the road for the third consecutive week to play the Quad City Steamwheelers (5-3). These two teams met up April 28th in Omaha, where the Beef won 47-36.

The Beef are coming off of their first road win of the season. They were able to beat the Bismarck Bucks in a 79-78 thriller. The offense was running on all cylinders behind the arm of John Gibbs who threw for seven touchdowns and ran one in for a touchdown. The Steamwheelers haven't had an opportunity to face Gibbs this season, but they did face leading receiver Daniel McKinney, who had a huge impact in the last game. Gibbs will need more big plays from his arm and legs Saturday night, in a hostile environment, in Moline, Illinois.

The Beef defense, who held one of the top running backs in the CIF Tyler Williams to 12 carries for 37 yards, will be looking to dominate the line of scrimmage once again. The Beef defensive line was led by Rusmin Nikocevic with 1.5 sacks and the team as a whole had three.
