
Beef Sign Two Big 12 Defenders

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association is pleased to announce the signing of Kansas State defensive back Jerry McCloud and University of Kansas defensive tackle Tim Allen.
McCloud, a 5'9 185 defensive back started his college career as a wide receiver for Tyler Junior College earning team MVP honors as a sophomore. Jerry was also a two time All American in track at Tyler JC. McCloud started his Wildcat career as a wide receiver playing in seven games before moving to CB his senior year opposite of Terence Newman. During his senior year the Wildcats finished 11-2 and beat Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl. McCloud was also a member of the Kansas State track team. During the last two seasons McCloud has played for the Green Bay Blizzard, Evansville BlueCats, and the Bakersfield Blitz.
Allen, a 6'2 285 defensive tackle was a three-year starter for Head Coach Mark Mangino and helped pace a strong late season defensive effort that saw the Jayhawks beat Nebraska, Iowa State, and Houston in the Ft. Worth Bowl. Allen finished his senior year with 27 total tackles and 18 solo tackles, including career high efforts against Oklahoma and Colorado. Allen was a stand out defensive lineman for the Dallas Carter High School Cowboys (TX) and was also an honor student. Allen recently graduated from The University of Kansas with a degree in Sociology.
"Jerry and Tim are big additions for us defensively and should make us a stronger unit over all," stated Head Coach Robert Fuller. "Jerry's experience on both sides of the ball will really help us down the stretch and Tim should help us be more physical on the defensive front."
