Beef sign record setting QB Andy Majors

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association is pleased to announce the signing of Pittsburg State University QB Andy Majors. Majors joins the Omaha Beef after a stand out career with Gorillas.

"We are very excited to bring in an athlete at the QB position as accomplished as Andy," stated Head Coach Robert Fuller. "Andy brings amazing athleticism, leadership, and experience to our football team and he knows how to win."

As a senior Majors lead Pitt State to the third round of the NCAA Division II National play offs, passing for 3,065 yards, rushing for 963 yards, and accounting for 34 TD's. Majors 3,065 passing, 4,028 total yards, and .590 completion percentage last season are school records. Majors 5,531 passing yards, 43 TD's, and 7,867 total offensive yards are second only to two-time All American Neil Philpot at Pittsburg State. Majors is also just the fifth player in Division II history to rush for at least 2,000 yards and pass for at least 4,000. Majors earned 1st team All Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors, Don Hansen All Region honors, and was selected to play in the Division II All Star game, the Cactus Bowl.

As a junior, Majors split time at QB with All American Neil Philpot and earned All-MIAA honors after compiling 2,541 yards of total offense. Majors set Pitt State single season records in completion percentage and completions going 113 of 166 passing for 1,769 yards and 19 TD's. Majors also rushed 102 times for 772 yards and 12 TD's. As a sophomore Majors earned All-MIAA honors at Wide Receiver and also saw action at QB and running back. As a freshman Majors accounted for 646 yards of total offense and 8 TD's.

Majors was a three year member of the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and recently graduated with a degree in Psychology. The Omaha Beef travel to Peoria, IL, this weekend to face the Peoria Roughriders. The Beef return home next Friday, June 2nd, to face the Sioux Falls Storm.
