
Beef Recognized for Two Categories in IFL Awards

OMAHA, NE: The Indoor Football League announced the winners of the "2010 IFL Awards". Winners spanned over eighteen prestigious categories. Of the 25 teams in the IFL, the Omaha Beef are proud to announce they were selected in two of the categories: Offensive Player of the Year and Best Game Operations. The following players, executives, coaches, and teams earned honors.
Franchise of the Year: Richmond Revolution
Executive of the Year: Darlene Jones, San Angelo Stampede Express
Coach of the Year: Steve Criswell, Richmond Revolution
League Most Valuable Player: QB Bryan Randall, Richmond Revolution
Offensive Player of the Year: QB Ben Sankey, Omaha Beef
From a selection of quarterbacks, running backs, offensive linemen, and receivers, QB Ben Sankey was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Year. Throughout the 2010 season, the Omaha Star QB completed 70% of his passes. He threw for 2772 total yards, averaging 198.2 yards per game. Sankey also delivered 63 touchdowns throughout the season while only being intercepted a total of twelve times all season.
Defensive Player of the Year: DL John Fields, Kent Predators
Special Teams Player of the Year: KR Randy Kelly, Wichita Wild
Offensive Rookie of the Year: RB Derrick Ross, San Angelo Stampede Express
Defensive Rook of the Year: LB Landon Jones, Colorado Ice
Adam Pringle Award: Dixie Wooten, Wichita Wild
Most Improved Player: LB Maurice Simpkins, Green Bay Blizzard
Community Relations Award: La Crosse Spartans
Best Game Operations: Omaha Beef
The Best Game Operations was awarded to Omaha with the basis of the Beef providing the best game presentation. This included half-time shows, giveaways, music, public address announcer, and on-field promotions.
Best Media Relations: Richmond Revolution
Best Fan Base: Chicago Slaughter
Best Mascot: West Texas Roughnecks
Best Dance Team: Billings Outlaws
Best Team Website: Bloomington Extreme
