Omaha Beef News Release
Wednesday, January 18, 2006, Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association is pleased to update you on the Omaha Beef player's from last season that have moved to the Arena Football League. Long time Beef defensive lineman and former Husker Damien Bauman is currently battling for a starting job with the New York Dragons. Beef wide receiver and former UNO starter Mike Nizzi is in camp with the Columbus Destroyers competing for a WR/LB job.
Two possible additions to the AFL from the Omaha Beef are All-UIF defensive end Leif Murphy and former Iowa State Cyclone standout Harold Clewis. Both players were invited to camp work outs with the Chicago Rush. The 6'4 290 Murphy was a two time All-American for North Dakota State and has been voted to the All-league teams his last two seasons in indoor football. Several Canadian Football League teams have also contacted Leif. Harold Clewis joined the Beef late last season and quickly made an impact from his CB position. Clewis played as a true freshman at Iowa State and through his career helped get ISU to three post-season bowl games.

Beef fans are welcome to attend the Omaha Beef "Invite only" tryouts February 4th and 5th at the Center Sports Complex located on 147th and Giles. Saturday's try-out will be 6-8 P.M. and Sunday's session will run from 10 A.M. to noon.
