Beef hold Warriors scoreless in second half

Omaha, Nebraska – With the first road win of the season the Omaha Beef Football defense held the Utah Warriors scoreless in the second half of this past weekend's game in West Valley City, Utah. The Beef defense held Utah, the fourth highest scoring team in the National Indoor Football League to only 17 points. Prior to this past weekends' game the Warriors were scoring an average of 52.0 points per game.

With 8 games played, standout linebacker Donavon LaViness leads the league in tackles with 49 and 29 assists. Defensive back Justin Comstock ranks 15th with 31 tackles and 29 assists.

With just 3 games under his belt this season, defensive lineman Dwayne Harris is ranked 17th in the League for sacks with 3 and 1 assist. Defensive lineman Richard Johnson also has 3 sacks and 1 assist. Leading the category is Leif Murphy from the Tri-City Diesel with 9 sacks and 2 assists.

Defensive back Charles Verdone is ranked 3rd for interceptions with 6 and 5th for passes defend with 8 broken-up with six games played.

With only 6 regular season games left to play, overall the Beef have the best pass defensive rating and are ranked third best in red zone defense. Omaha is also ranked fifth best in scoring defense with 32.4 per game.

The Beet travel this weekend to Sioux City, Iowa for a game with the Bandits on Saturday, May 22nd.
