Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, Nebraksa - The Omaha Beef used the foot of Ted Retzlaff and a solid defensive effort to pull off a 28-10 indoor football win over Bloomington Saturday night.
The win boosted Omaha to 6-6 in the first of three straight road games. The Extreme fell to 5-7.
Retzlaff, a former Husker kicker, accounted for 13 of Omaha's points with four field goals and an extra point.
"I had some good opportunities to make some field goals there," Retzlaff said. "I had a good holder and a good snapper."
Retzlaff's first field goal, a 39-yarder, tied the game 3-3 with 9:47 left in the opening quarter. A safety recorded by Richard Johnson put the Beef up to stay 5-3.
An 18-yard Retzlaff field goal opened scoring for the Beef in the second quarter. Then came a 23-yard fumble recovery by Randy Stella for a touchdown - his second in two weeks - and a 27-yard TD pass from Andy Majors to Micah Arnold.
Retzlaff completed the Beef scoring with field goals of 21 and 35 yards.
The win was a nice payback for the Beef, who lost to the Extreme 46-40 at the Civic Auditorium a month ago.
