The Omaha Beef are proud to announce Richard McCleskey as a welcome addition to their 2009 coaching staff. McCleskey will be the Offensive Line and Defensive Line Coach. 2009 will mark his first season with the Beef and first in a coaching capacity.

A graduate of UNO, McCleskey was a standout performer for the former NCC (North Central Conference), now known as the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association). During his years at UNO, he excelled as a formidable defensive lineman.

"Richard brings a fresh source of ideas and fundamentals while exceeding all expectations of passion and enthusiasm in his quest to coach," said Head Coach, James Kerwin.

McCleskey has extensive indoor football experience, while playing for over six seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL). Teams for which he played include the Buffalo Destroyers, Columbus Destroyers, Austin Wranglers, New York Dragons, Los Angeles Avengers, and San Jose Sabercats. The Beef are confident that his playing experience will serve the team well in 2009.
