Brampton Beast News Release
On Wednesday, July 9th, the Brampton Beast Professional Hockey Club participated in Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation's "Inside Ride" alongside 12 other local businesses and organizations. The foundation holds the event annually in support of families and children with cancer. This year the foundation has already raised over $150,000 with donations still being received. 100 percent of the proceeds are being used to help childhood cancer causes. Central Hockey League's 2013-14 Man of the Year, Cal Wild, participated in the bike ride with Head Coach Mark DeSantis and Assistant Coach Brent Hughes.
"It was an incredible experience participating in the Inside Ride. The hosts were incredible and very passionate about the cause. It was a day filled with fun and physical activity all in support for the fight against cancer," said forward Cal Wild of the Brampton Beast. The Beast hope to continue to support charities that aim to make an impact on the lives of others.
The Beast also attended the Lucas Holtom Carnival at Leander Park. The carnival takes place yearly with 3000 people taking part of the festivities throughout the day. Team mascot Boomer was a hit with the kids and team staff brought a shooting tunnel that everyone enjoyed.
On Sunday, the Beast teamed up with Churchill Meadows Dental Centre to host a free public skate at the Powerade Centre. New Beast signing Josh McQuade was present skating with kids and signing autographs.
Next weekend the Beast plan to be at the weekly Farmer's Market as well the Peel Pride Picnic at Chinguacousy Park. The Beast are also hosting hockey clinic on July 19th followed by a BBQ at the Powerade Centre from 2pm-5pm for season seat holders.
