Hershey Bears News Release
After a 4-3 shootout win against Providence Saturday night, the BEARS are back in action Sunday to finish three games in three days. HERSHEY will also debut the team's third jersey today with the 5:00 p.m. game with the Bruins.
Saturday night saw HERSHEY rally from two different one goal deficits to win 4-3 in the first ever shootout in GIANT Center history. Mathieu Darche scored two goals and assisted on a third to lead the offense, while Eric Perrin and Marek Svatos scored in the shootout to give the BEARS the victory. Peter Budaj won his second game of the season, and his second game in eight days in the shootout. The BEARS outshot Providence Saturday night to mark the first time this season that HERSHEY has outshot its opposition.
Today's game marks the debut of the team's third jersey for 2004-05. The new look jersey is black trimmed with maroon and white, and has block letters spelling HERSHEY from top left to bottom right on the front. In a look based on the team's 1958-59 Calder Cup Champion sweater, the "swiping BEAR" logo is located at the top right on the front. The jersey is available in the team's store at GIANT Center, and will be featured in several home games this season.
Today's game can be heard on 1460-AM and 1390-AM in central Pennsylvania and on the internet at www.pennlive.com. John Walton calls the action from GIANT Center beginning at 4:40 p.m. with the pregame show today. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
